Burrup Peninsula Feasibility Study
A historic native title settlement in 2003 saw the State return freehold title of some 5,000 ha of the Burrup Peninsula to Indigenous ownership.
The Burrup Park Council (the Park Council) have identified a range of potential commercial opportunities including tourist accommodation, retail, restaurant/cafe and a Cultural Centre which could be developed to service visitors to the region and provide indigenous employment and training opportunities.
Pracsys were appointed by Tourism WA to undertake a Feasibility Study that will consider the business viability of these concepts in the context of the Park Council’s key cultural and environmental management goals.
The Study will also recommend changes which may be required to the Burrup Peninsula Management Plan which provides the framework for future development.
Subiaco Markets Feasibility Study
The Subiaco Redevelopment Authority (SRA) has identified economic activation as one of its key roles in inner-city Perth.
The SRA commissioned Pracsys to determine the feasibility of a new Farmers Market around the Subiaco Train Station.
SRA and the City of Subiaco have considered the Farmers Markets business plan and are seeking a suitable operator and key sponsor for the venture.
The timing of the venture is critical and preparations are underway to launch the markets to correspond with the closure of the existing market sites.
It is expected that a Regional Growers Market would contribute to the vitality of the Station Square Precinct, by acting as a unique draw card, attracting more customers for the potential of all businesses.
Skilled Stadium Feasibility Review
In 2002, Geelong Football Club announced plans for the redevelopment of Skilled Stadium.
A master plan and feasibility study for the $26 million project had been produced but the Steering Group, which included the Victorian State Government, the City of Greater Geelong, and the AFL, was keen to understand the potential benefits both to the football club and the Geelong community.
Pracsys was commissioned to undertake a review of the feasibility study paying close attention to the financial modelling and the economic and social impact on the surrounding community.
All stakeholders were satisfied with the alternative redevelopment proposal, which resulted in a better community outcome, only a marginal effect on Geelong Football Club’s operations, and a lower total capital cost for the project.
