Perth’s population is expected to grow substantially over the next 25 years. On the basis of population projections Perth will require an additional 375,000 homes. One of the strategies emerging from Network City is to revitalize existing centres and suburbs by enhancing their amenity with an overall aim of encouraging local mixing of uses to reduce the need for people to travel between their places of residence, employment and recreation.

The Activity Centres Review study provides analysis of transport oriented development activity centres from Maylands to Guildford, determining existing and future functions and characteristics. It contains examination of the hard land uses of each centre, including residential and commercial population and demographics, and identifies potential opportunities for redevelopment and growth in residential density.

Riverside Masterplan

Riverside Master Plan - East Perth Redevelopment Authority

The East Perth Redevelopment Authority (EPRA) is responsible for the redevelopment and revitalisation of land from East Perth to Northbridge to attract greater residents, workers and visitors to these inner city areas.

EPRA has commissioned a review of the 2004 Riverside Masterplan, with the objective of creating a diverse mixed use precinct, encompassing 40 hectares of land at the East Perth gateway to the city.

Pracsys has carried out a comparative socioeconomic analysis of changes to the Riverside Masterplan to determine whether retail and residential yield and density are appropriate and to ensure the precinct achieves economic, social and environmental sustainability outcomes.

Given the scale and mix of user groups and estimated expenditure from the Masterplan Review, the Riverside precinct can be expected to operate as an attractive, diverse precinct.

Northshore Hamilton - Urban Land Development Authority

The Government of Queensland’s Urban Land Development Authority (ULDA) is responsible for the development of the Northshore Hamilton Urban Development area.

Pracsys was engaged by ULDA through Hassell to help develop an Interim Land Use Plan for the area, reflecting the need for a major detailed urban design project incorporating the analysis of key infrastructure required to deliver a world class community.

Currently underway, this project involves a four stage process. The outcome of this project will be a well documented report encompassing the essential elements required to effectively establish and maintain a superlative community that will retain and continue to attract visitors to the precinct.
